6/11/11 Profitable year (to date)

Thanks to Paul Hanagan retaining the jockeys' championship on Saturday it looks like it could be another profitable year for us. Substantial bets were landed at 9/2 (16 points) and 7/2 (ten points). Whilst not as good as 2010, at the time of writing our 2011 profits are as follows:

At 6.11.11 Stakes 764.4 Returns 844.53 Profit 82.13 = 10.74%

2010         Stakes 684.9 Returns 1,262.25 Profit 577.35 = 84.3%

All time (8.12.09 to 6.11.11):-

Stakes 1,449.30 Returns 2,106.78 Profit 659.48 = 45.5%


26/9/11 New blog address

I am fed up with the lack of web support to sort out the technical issues with my blog on this site. So from today there is a new betting blog here : mikequigley.blogspot.com

Following the absence from bet posting since 14 August, I have posted a new bet today and will continue to post bets at the new blog address from time to time. 

12/9/11 Update
 
A very poor and disappointing performance from Serena Williams. She looked unbeatable in her match against Woza so I did not expect Stosur to have a chance against her. Hopefully some of you may have thought differently and taken some 5/1 Stosur to win the match.

I am still unable to log into my blog because of the technical issues. However I will update the summary bets page later in the week.

Elsewhere Hanagan is going well in the jockeys' championship - 19 clear of Fallon as I write - so should oblige for us barring accidents. That would bring a satisfactory conclusion to this experiment.

Looking forward to this which starts on Monday.

Here is a summary of the bets we've had:

Women's singles
1.5pts ew Li Na 80/1 (Best bookmaker price now 20/1)
1pt ew Petkovic 66/1 (Now 40/1)
6pts win Serena 5/1 and 4pts win Serena 4/1 (Now 6/4)

Total invested 15pts

Unfortunately for us all our three players have been drawn in the top half.

I have had no bets in the men's event. I favour a Djoko-Mugray final but have not played anything as yet. I may have a bet during the tournament and if so will publish it on this page if my blog is still unavailable.
 
14/08/2011 Special announcement

Please note that owing to technical issues at my web host my 300+ blog entries have been destroyed. The company is unable to restore them from backups they held. 

As of 14 August I have therefore suspended my betting activity on the blog. I will not be able to resume until the company provides me with solutions. At this time I am unable to login to my blog or post any entries.
